Abstract
Serving as the Editor-in-Chief (EiC) for IEEE Microwave and Wireless Components Letters (MWCL) for the past three years was a great honor for me. IEEE MWCL is a very important scientific journal in the IEEE MICROWAVE THEORY AND TECHNIQUES SOCIETY (MTT-S). It complements the other MTT-S journals with its compact publication format and rather short publication time. Therefore, the processing speed was one major issue we worked on for the past three years. By increasing the number of associate editors (AEs) and as such reducing the workload per AE and other measures, we were able to reduce the average turnaround time to 30 days. This means that authors can now expect their first decision letter one month after paper submission.
