Abstract

For an extended period, the tumor microenvironment (TME) has not been focused on in the field of 20 cancer biology before Stephen Paget's "seed and soil" hypothesis [1]. The representative characters of 21 cells involved in TME are high plasticity and continuous phenotypic and functional change. For 22 example, the desmoplastic reaction in pancreatic cancer is a critical histological observation, tightly 23 associated with significantly increasing the interstitial fluid pressure within the tumor niche.
