Abstract
The Environment and Sustainability Meeting (I EMAS) is an initiative of the Research Group “Environment and Sustainable Development” (MAMDES) of the IFPI/CNPq Research Groups Directory. The Group has existed since 2011 and has operated as a regional articulator, acting as a link, mainly, between researchers from different Higher Education Centers in the Northeast, such as, for example, the Higher Education Center of Seridó (UFRN), the Geography Department of the Federal do Piauí, the Federal University of Maranhão, and researchers working in the large area of Geosciences at the Federal Institute of Piauí (IFPI). academic community an entirely free event with lectures, short courses, round tables and presentation of scientific works. .The works have a multi/interdisciplinary character and diversified methodologies directly applied to studies in the environment and conservation. We hope that the event and the production of all scientific knowledge generated will be useful from a theoretical point of view and applied to the use and conservation of natural resources from Piauí.
