Urology. 2015; 86: 220-223 Abstract Full Text Full Text PDF Scopus (27) Google Scholar are to be congratulated on an intriguing study in which they noted that residents matriculating from programs with a dedicated research year authored significantly higher numbers of publications (7) compared with those residents not completing a research year (4). The authors noted that larger programs based on resident complement also resulted in residents having more publications. The authors also noted that graduates of 5-year programs without a research year were more likely not to pursue a fellowship vs those who completed a 6-year training program, which included a year of dedicated research.
