Abstract

In this paper an approach is proposed to rationalize the operation of large energy production systems, over periods where the independent water inflows and load demands can be well known. A precise model is considered to represent the hydraulic system:individua1ised reservoirs in cascade, water transportation delays, non1inear generations, etc… The non hydraulic production (usual thermal generation, interchange,…) includes load shedding. Difficulties resulting from the large scale are overcomed by decomposition techniques.
