Abstract

This paper describes decision processes for recycling and disassembly of technical worn out products. The decision process concern product inspection and product disassembly. During the inspection phase, the global recycling direction is established: repair for reuse, disassembly for spare part reuse or shredding for material reuse. During disassembly the decision process has to detennine the recycling activities to apply and the level for stopping disassembly. The decisions are based on economical and ecological evaluation criteria. The relevant mathematical formulations are proposed and illustrated on an application example.
