The relationship between Man and Animals and the natural resources of the Environment in which they exist together with their combined use of these resources is the subject of this book. The conflicting demands on resources and the maintenance of their potential for renewal world-wide is a subject of critical and developing importance for the future of this planet. This second edition provides up-dated statistical information, places more emphasis on energy resources and takes account of new studies on population and development. It is an introductory textbook for students of geography and environmental studies.
