Abstract

One of the current global issues and challenges is anthropogenic climate change. Anthropogenic climate change refers to changes in the global climate system primarily caused by human activities, especially greenhouse gas emissions. The norm of state sovereignty as the highest authority, characterized by territorial boundaries and the right to non-intervention by other authorities, is inadequate for addressing the global and non-linear nature of climate change efforts. This research employs a qualitative approach, conducting an in-depth analysis of literature. Literature analysis is a systematic method for analyzing electronic records and written texts to obtain scientific information. The conclusion of this study is that there is a need for a construction of sovereignty that transcends territoriality and anthropocentrism. Sovereignty should be constructed as ecological responsibility based on an equal consensus of the international community.
