Abstract

The present study deals with the bio-production of TiO2 nanoparticles (NPs) using ethanolic leaf extract of Moringa oleifera tree, titanium tetra chloride (TiCl4) solution as a precursor using precipitation method. The leaf extract stabilized and reduced the nanoparticles size. The TiO2 NPs were analysed by X-ray diffraction (P-XRD) spectroscopy and the average size of nanoparticles were found to be 10 nm by employing Scherer’s equation. Intense and broad peaks were exhibited at 25.27° by X-ray diffraction study which corresponds to (101) plane of anatase form that was established by the TEM. FTIR showed strong absorption between 400 and 500 cm−1 which indicated TiO stretching frequency. The NPs were applied on spinach seeds to study the impact on its germination, enhancement in the colour, size, number and yield of spinach leaves.
