Abstract

The article addresses the problem of early support for the development of a child in the prenatal period and its family experiencing an unfavorable prenatal diagnosis. The intensive development of medicine and prenatal diagnostics is an inspiration and challenge for researchers and practitioners dealing with the earliest period of human life. Interest in the situation of parents experiencing an unfavorable diagnosis of their unborn child is constantly growing, and research explorations imply considerations on the practical dimension of the issue and solutions that could be part of the activities of educators. The article describes the activities and results undertaken as part of my own pedagogical practice in the area of early support for the development of the prenatal child and his family. The leading research strategy was a single internal case study, which resulted from the research goal of comprehensively describing the phenomenon with full consideration of the situational context. The conclusions and results obtained constitute an incentive for further exploration of the issue and the development of pragmatic solutions in the practice of systemic activities supporting early child and family development.
