Abstract

The results of researches of optical fibers places with changed temperature or with longitudinal strain, by means of usual optical time-domain reflectometer and Brillouin optical time-domain reflectometer are presented in this work. Reflectograms of usual and Brillouin optical time-domain reflectometers for “problem” fiber places for stretched, heated and cooled sections of optical fibers are shown. Results of researches confirmed advantage of the Brillouin reflectometry method for early diagnostics of “problem” fibers places. The work was performed with the financial support of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation within the scope of the base part of a State Assignment within the sphere of scientific activity (Project No. 8.9334.2017/8.9).
