Abstract

Earliest Devonian graptolites are described from a fossiliferous band of the Lalei Formation at Lila in Ximeng county, southwestern Yunnan, China. As known from the 12 localities globally, the species described in this paper, Monograptus uniformis Pribyl, M. aequabilis (Pribyl) and M. microdon Richter, are mainly distributed along the marginal basins around different platforms and occasionally on the platform. The occurrence of the uniformis assemblage both in Ximeng and Qinzhou, China, provides more significant evidence for defining the Silurian — Devonian boundary in China.
