Abstract
Shorthaul air transportation in the 'Eighties is the subject of a preliminary assessment being made by the Government. This covers quiet conventional aircraft, STOL and VTOL. It includes noise exposure of communities, the possible time saving to passengers and operating costs for various hypothetical combinations of types of aircraft and airports from which they might operate.
