Abstract

Oscillating pendulum driven by ocean waves generates electricity well from the sea coupled with Hydrostatic power transmission (HST) in it. The HST makes 1500rpm around steady generator rotation from even 3 rpm level motion originated by the waves. The HST uses a giant Rotary Vane Pump invented for the energy device. In order to change the device to be inexpensive, hydro-mechanical hybrid transmission was studied. The transmission assembled with a few sets of combinations which consist of step up gears and a variable piston pumps. The hybrid transmission brings all the driving torque of the gears and the pumps to be much smaller. Therefore, it can improve such the power transmission for the large wind turbine, too. Patent is pending.
