Abstract

This paper addresses, the modeling and simulation of longitudinal dynamics of the vehicle using hydrostatic power transmission (HPT) system. The investigation is performed studying the dynamical performance and behavior of the model under different input conditions. The Matlab-Simscape platform is chosen to develop the simulation program of the studied application, which is observed as the perfect rapid prototyping design tool achieving the desired objectives. HPT systems are the best choice when variable output velo-city or high torque at low speed is required in engineering applications, especially in the field of manufacturing, Automa-tion and heavy duty vehicles. In this paper, the tire and longitudinal vehicle dynamics and prime mover system with typical HPT system has been developed in Matlab-Simulink and Simscape environment. The aim is to achieve the best performance of vehicle and its power transmission system with different inputs of the prime mover throttle signals.
