Abstract

We study laser ablation of solid surface by two interfered femto second laser. Periodic microstructure formed by two interfered femtosecond laser pluses improve tribology properties of solid materials in fluid lubrication. This is because wedge effect occurs by periodic microstructure, and tribology properties depend on shape of microscopic structures. Moreover biprism enable easy manufacturing structure, and by adjustment of laser power, angle of prism, or scanning number of time, we can shape control of stuructures. This method is expected for the application to various products. We report the control method of the shape of periodic microscopic structures and tribology properties change.
