Abstract
A case of adenomatoid dysplasia of Bowmann's capsule and of the proximal part of the renal tubules was discovered at autopsy, in a patient suffering from a sarcoma of the duodenum with hepatic metastases. Osteomalacia had been noticed for five years. This was associated with renal loss of phosphate, low blood phosphorus levels and aminoaciduria without glycosuria. Seven similar observations have been tabulated. In all seven cases, hepatic neoplasia, either primitive or metastatic, was present. Six patients were female. In all cases, haematological disorders, probably secondary, were present. Our case, as well as that recently reported by Eulderink, suggests the possibility that the renal dysplastic lesions may have preceded the malignant growth.
