Abstract
Apathy is a poorly understood syndrome characterised by a significant decrease in goal-directed, motivated behaviour. It occurs in ∼50% of people with schizophrenia as part of the “negative syndrome”. We conducted a prospective investigation to improve our mechanistic understanding of apathy in schizophrenia.
