Abstract

Dynamical descriptions of the matter formation and evolution in nuclear collisions at ultra-relativistic energies are reviewed. After a few introductory remarks, we discuss first the particle production mechanisms in some elementary processes and its possible consequences in nucleus-nucleus collisions. In the second part of this paper, we examine the J/ ψ suppression proposed as a signal of quark-gluon plasma formation in light of nuclear collision dynamics.
