Abstract

Spectroscopic studies of compression plasma flows generated by a miniature magnetoplasma compressor and of the shock compressed plasma layer formed near a target surface exposed to these flows are reported. The peak electron temperature and density are found to be 3 eV and 1.2⋅1016 cm−3, respectively, in the compressor flow and 4.5 eV and 6.7⋅1016 cm−3 in the shock compressed layer.
