Abstract

Abstract Molecular dynamics simulations of 2 dimensional ferroelectric systems with soft defects are presented. The defect-induced slow relaxatorial dynamics above the phase transition is studied for various defect arrangements, especially for the two opposite cases of superstructure and clustering. The onset of slow relaxations is drastically shifted to higher temperatures if the defects have a tendency to form clusters.
