Abstract

We investigated the dynamics of confined excitons and biexcitons in CuCl quantum dots in an NaCl matrix by using subpicosecond pump and probe absorption spectra, and time-resolved luminescence spectra. Then temporal changes of the absorption, optical gain, and luminescence are interpreted in relation to the exciton dynamics. The optical nonlinearity is discussed in terms of the exciton-exciton interaction in the quantum dot.
