Abstract
Abstract—Experimental results of studying the process of compact monodisperse bubble cluster rise in a fluid with a surfactant at Reynolds numbers Re = 0.001–1 are presented. For analysis of the effect of the surfactant on the bubble cluster motion, an experimental set-up was designed. The influence of the bubble size, the bubble concentration in the cluster, and the concentration of the surfactant in the fluid on the dynamics of bubble cluster rise is investigated. Empirical correlations for the drag coefficient of the bubble cluster rising in the presence and absence of the surfactant are obtained.
