Abstract
The extensive use of renewable and non-conventional energy sources in the modern world has led to study and synthesis of ionic materials having high conductivity which will have vast applications as a good electrolyte. In search of it a new silver oxysalt system with dopant salt CdI2 has been synthesized using melt quenching route and conductivity studies have been explored of the system. The information gathered from the analysis of the system xCdI2 - (1-x) (0.3 Ag2O − 0.3 V2O5 − 0.3 P2O5 − 0.1 ZnO); x = 0.1, 0.2, 0.3 has shown remarkable outcomes. The conductivity of the as prepared system increases with the increment in CdI2 content. It has been detected that higher dopant salt concentration is favorable atmosphere for the silver ions conduction. Hopping frequency plays the vital role in the electrical conductivity of the system under study. The current system may be suitable as a good electrolyte that may be used in a battery as the nature of DC conductivity for the system is stable enough.
