Abstract

The dynamics of the system consisting of a sleeve (pipe), a mandrel, and a rod in an automatic pipe-rolling mill is considered. The Bessel equation provides the basis for a differential equation describing the motion of the mandrel rod, in which the time dependence of the system’s mass is taken into account. The operation of the rod system restraining the mandrel in the automatic mill is analyzed. The vibrational activity is studied, with allowance for the change in mass of the system.
