Abstract

This paper focuses on the dynamic stability of rolling missiles equipped with angle-of-attack feedback three-loop autopilot considering parasitic effect induced by radar radome slope. By analyzing the parasitic effect, it is found that an extra feedback loop occurs in the guidance and control system. This undesired loop will strongly affect the dynamic stability of rolling missile. Based on the differential equations expressed in the complex form, the sufficient and necessary stability condition for rolling missiles with angle-of-attack feedback three-loop autopilot considering parasitic effect is obtained. Numerical simulations and theoretical discussions are conducted to demonstrate the validity of stability condition. The results indicated that the rolling effect and parasitic effect will deteriorate the stability of autopilot designed in conventional method.
