Abstract

Dynamic Monitoring of the Effect of a Special Kinesitherapeutic Program on Endurance of Flexor Trunk Muscles in Patients with Chronic Lumbalgy

Highlights

  • IntroductionIntroduction lasting longer than3 months.Chronic lumbalgies are a heterogeneous group of disorders, which main clinical features include recurrent low back painToday's recommendations for the treatment of patients with chronic Lumbalgia undergo important changes generally expressed interms of transition from passive to active treatment

  • Given the social importance of this disease, for the first time in Bulgaria, there was carried out a prospective study of the trunk muscle flexion capabilities, before and after application of a kinesitherapeutic program of special exercises at home in patients with chronic Lumbalgia

  • Conflicting results from different studies on the effectiveness of kinesitherapeutic programs in patients with chronic Lumbalgia; indicate the need for further studies to evaluate the effect of combined exercise in these patients, and to clarify the role of many factors contributing to this pathology (Calmels et al 2004)

Introduction

Introduction lasting longer than3 months.Chronic lumbalgies are a heterogeneous group of disorders, which main clinical features include recurrent low back painToday's recommendations for the treatment of patients with chronic Lumbalgia undergo important changes generally expressed interms of transition from passive to active treatment. Given the social importance of this disease, for the first time in Bulgaria, there was carried out a prospective study of the trunk muscle flexion capabilities, before and after application of a kinesitherapeutic program of special exercises at home in patients with chronic Lumbalgia. Objective: To render an account of the effect of a kinesitherapeutic program of special exercises for endurance of the flexor trunk muscles in patients with chronic Lumbalgia. Participants in the control group at the same stage were reported to undergo aggravation of painful symptoms, and had no improvement in the endurance of the flexor trunk muscles.
