Abstract

A fluid catalytic cracking unit is described by a dynamic model which considers both reactor and regenerator behaviour and their interaction. A lumped kinetics were used for the cracking reactions and coke deposition which occur in the riser. The regenerator is described by a fluidized movingbed reactor with recycle, where coke is burned off with air. Simulation studies of the complex interactions between both reactors were performed for changes in the operating variables.
