In this issue of Chem, Zhang and co-workers report on the development of a novel methodology for creating electrochromic materials based on dynamic metal-ligand interactions. The proposed approach for the search of new systems is interesting and could allow fast developments in the area of electrochromic materials for non-emissive displays.
