Abstract

Data reconciliation based on material balance constraints is now a current practice in mineral, metallurgical and chemical industries. However its application is mainly used for off-line identification of steady-state operating conditions for process performance evaluation. Various methods are proposed to extend data reconciliation to on-line application for process monitoring and eventually real-time optimization. The objective of the paper is to make a short survey of the possible approaches to dynamic data reconciliation, while focusing on the flotation process used as a prototype of the formulation of the filtering problems.
