Abstract
In September 1993, the Institute of Applied Physics, Russian Academy of Sciences (IAP RAS), conducted a topical meeting on {open_quotes}Algorithms of Information Processing in Neuron-like Media{close_quotes} in the framework of a regular workshop on {open_quotes}Physics and Radioelectronics in Medicine and Ecology.{close_quotes} Among the topics for discussion were possible algorithms of parallel encoding and decision making in hierarchical neuron-like systems and trends in using such algorithms in new-generation computers.
