Abstract

The nanostructured CaTiO3 photocatalyst is one of the most promising materials for the degradation of organic dyes owing to its unique properties. Perovskite structured CaTiO3 nanomaterial has been synthesized using the simple peroxo route with the assistance of microwave irradiation. The XRD analysis confirms the presence of perovskite structure of the prepared nanomaterials. FT-IR analysis endorses the presence of Ca-Ti-O vibrational bonds. The photocatalytic property was investigated using methylene blue (MB) dye. The present investigation clearly reveals that the synthesized CaTiO3 nanomaterials have a remarkable catalytic ability to degrade MB dye under UV light exposure.
