Abstract

TheDy-Mnphasediagram in [Massalski2]was redrawn from [1967Kir]. [1994Oka] pointed out that the liquidus curves of the intermetallic compounds DyMn2; Dy6Mn23; and DyMn12 in this phase diagram appear to be unusually flat when they are extrapolated to their metastable congruent melting points. Figure 1 shows the Dy-Mn phase diagram calculated by [2009Wan]. This phase diagram is based on the same phase boundary data reported by [1967Kir], but the interpretation of the data points seems to be better because the problem described above was alleviated. Table 1 shows Dy-Mn crystal structure data quoted from [Massalski2]. The composition column has been modified for consistency with Fig. 1.
