Abstract
Group intelligence of multiple mobile robots is discussed in this paper. Using the analogy of dwarves in fairy tales, cooperation is discussed and classified into three levels. Each member may have a little ability of off-line motion planning but behave mainly by on-line motion planning, and coordinate one another mutually in force. Grasping and transferring a large object is studied as examples of cooperation using Virtual Impedance Method.
