Abstract
Concern over the number of sharps injuries in the healthcare sector across Europe led to a directive aimed at preventing such injuries ( Council Directive 2010/32/EU ). The provisions of the directive were implemented by the Health and Safety (Sharps Instruments in Healthcare) Regulations 2013. This article outlines the key duties of managers under 2013 regulations.
