Abstract

Dust-ion-acoustic (DIA) solitary waves in a multi-component magnetized dusty plasmas have been studied theoretically containing negative and positive ions, Boltzmann distributed hot electrons, and immobile negative and positive dust grains. The Zakharov-Kuznetsov equation has been derived and multi-dimensional instability of these solitary structures is also studied. The external magnetic field and the propagation directions of both the nonlinear waves and their perturbation modes are found to play a very important role in changing the instability criterion and the growth rate of the unstable DIA solitary waves. A brief discussion have made at the end of the article.
