Abstract

Abstract Dura-Bar 202 (Type 2) Ni-Resist Iron is a flake graphite austentic cast iron that is produced by the continuous casting process. It is suitable for most applications requiring Dura-Bar 201 (Type 1) Ni-Resist Iron, and the grades are often used interchangeably. The machinability of Dura-Bar 202 (Type 2) Ni-Resist Iron will be similar to the pearlitic grades of gray iron, namely G2 and G2A. It is especially suitable for service temperatures above 705°C (1300°F) and in the stem handleing applications. Copper levels are maximized at 0.50%, and this grade is suitable for food grade applications. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, microstructure, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as heat treating. Filing Code: CI-100. Producer or source: Dura-Bar Metal Services.
