Abstract

The design for Constitución de 1812 bridge over the Cadiz Bay includes the construction of a protection system around the maritime pylon number 12 against the accidental case of a vessel impacting on it.A risk analysis has been made in a first instance, followed by the definition of the suitable fenders to absorb the estimated impact. Fenders are installed on four protection structures, founded on steel piles and with reinforced concrete superstructure. This superstructure is built using precast pieces as lost formwork.
