Abstract
US-based DuPont Fuel Cells has won funding under the Office of the Secretary of Defense's annual Defense Acquisition Challenge Program (DACP). The company was chosen for its ‘Soldier Power’ proposal, which detailed how new fuel cell technology could enable the Land Warrior and Ground Soldier System programs to revolutionize how soldiers are outfitted. The project will see DuPont's direct methanol fuel cell technology repackaged and integrated with system technology from Germany's SFC Smart Fuel Cell to provide a compact, lightweight power supply that can be carried by soldiers.
