Abstract

In this work, the possible application of coexisting stable solutions of oscillator circuits for dual-band frequency division is investigated. This dual-band division is based on the control of the two coexisting solutions through the forcing generator signal. This would avoid the use of additional switching elements. A systematic approach has been developed for the design of the dual oscillator. Through injection at the second harmonic component, a frequency divider has been achieved in two frequency bands 0.92 GHz and 1.37 GHz. The circuit has been analyzed through harmonic balance and time-domain integration techniques. It has been manufactured and experimentally characterized, with very good agreement with the simulation results.
