Abstract
SynopsisThis paper reviews the current literature on the family life cycle, while considering the aspects o f the dual-career family and its development through the stages o f the family life cycle. The developmental issues o f the dual-career family are reviewed from the joining of the couple in marriage through the introduction, growth, and launching of children, and then into retirement. Specific problem areas of the dual-career family are addressed, with suggestions for intervention by family therapists.
