Abstract

An ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna with dual band-notched characteristics is proposed in this letter. The fabricated prototype of the proposed antenna has a compact size of 30 × 24 mm which operates at 3 to 14 GHz and attained dual notch-bands at 3.3 to 3.7 GHz and 5.15 to 5.825 GHz. The result shows that the proposed antenna is compact, easy to fabricate and provides good characteristics in radiation patterns and time-domain behaviours. The simulated and measured results displayed good agreement over the entire operating frequency band. The proposed antenna can be used for wideband frequency requirement systems like indoor positioning.
