Abstract

DSTBULET, [D-Ser2(O-t-butyl),Leu5]enkephalyl-Thr6, is a peptide Leu-enkephalin and DSLET analog that is 60-fold or greater selective for delta opioid peptide receptors compared to mu opioid peptide receptors and kappa opioid peptide receptors. DSTBULET differs from DSLET in that the side chain of the D-Ser has an ether linkage to a tert-butyl group. DSTBULET is used almost exclusively in research on delta opioid peptide receptors and currently has no clinical use.
