Abstract
ABSTRACT Adimensionless design parameter, AH' /AH, the ratio of the total energy gain by slope to the friction drop at the end of a single inlet lateral line, is used not only to classify the shape of the pressure profile of a single inlet system but also for designing the double-inlet and the inflow-outflow systems. A set of simple design charts is developed for determining the inlet discharges and the pressure difference along the lateral line for both systems when the dimensionless design parameter AH'/AH is known. This can be expanded to the multiple-inlet system of lateral line design. The drip irrigation lateral line network system using this information can also be designed.
