Abstract

We evaluate the complexity of the Colombian climate from extreme behavior of gauge temperature and precipitation, using the novel Tsallis’ non-extensive entropy principle based on physical information. We find the spatial structure of non-additive universal categories (q-index) and compare them with some complex systems with the potential to have some degree of dynamical affinity. Our results evidence the high dynamical variability of regional climate expressed in the broad range of values of q-index and the high degree of non-extensivity for both temperature and precipitation.
