Abstract
The question of joint work by the Department of Pedagogy of the Crimea Teacher Training Institute and school teachers first arose in 1949 when a postgraduate course in pedagogy was established in the Institute. This work attained its greatest scope in the mid-fifties when the graduate students and the Department staff went into the schools in order to organize experimental work jointly with the teachers. They worked on such problems as the following: unity of pedagogical influence in the ethical upbringing of children (T. P. Danilova); formation of communist moral convictions in schoolchildren (P. I. Shakun); formation of the moral behavior of schoolchildren (L. P. Filippova); public opinion in the student body and its influence on the moral consciousness and behavior of schoolchildren (L. S.
