Abstract
The course is suitable for any medical professional with an interest in developing their artistic talents. Although the title of the course is “Drawing for surgeons,” physicians are also welcome. Medical “artists” at all levels of ability are invited to gain skills that will promote better communication with patients and colleagues alike, such as through anatomical diagrams and operation notes. This year an international mix of candidates attended the course, with people coming from Ireland, Italy, and Austria. Although only surgeons attended this time, a variety of specialties and grades of doctors were represented, including urology, orthopaedic, and maxillofacial consultants; paediatric surgical registrars; and ear, nose, and throat and plastic surgery senior house officers.
