Abstract

The only “property” you need for this play is some fake money, in decimal units: ones, tens, hundreds, thousands, perhaps ten-thousands. Slips of color-coded construction paper will do, or game chips, but imagination in assembling props will pay big dividends in student interest, so consider such possibilities as painted rocks (perhaps prepared by primary grades during their crafts periods), small shells from a collection, bubble-gum trading cards, trading stamps, macaroni bows or shells (may be spray-painted silver or gold), various lengths of drinking straws, buttons (political campaign buttons).
