Abstract

Contemporary neurosurgery concept and practice had been introduced into China in the turn of this century. Neurosurgery was accepted and slowly developed especially in the 1950s that the first neurosurgery department was established in China. One of the first generation of Chinese neurosurgeons that were trained in China is Dr Chung-Cheng Wang. Dr Wang and his Beijing Neurosurgical Institute play a central role in the development of Chinese modern neurosurgery.
