Abstract
Downconversion properties of a number of Ybdoped Scheelite-like molybdate and tungstate single crystals have been investigated. The efficient non-radiative excited state energy transfer from donor centres to Yb ions was observed. At high Yb concentrations a substantial part of this transfer runs by cooperative mechanism, that can be used for increase the efficiency of solar cells based on crystalline silicon.
